Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) was awarded the ‘Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative’ award at the 41st<\/sup> edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) in the UAE yesterday.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Pathaan\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>actor was honored for his decades’ worth of contributions to the entertainment industry at the Expo Centre in Sharjah.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by a large number of SRK fans in a jam-packed auditorium, who chanted his name until his arrival onstage.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a dapper black suit, the iconic actor humbly accepted the award from the Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, Ahmed Al Ameri, and the General Co-ordinator of the SIBF Khawla Al Mujaini.<\/p>\n

SRK gave a heartfelt speech to his diehard fans in attendance and remarked,<\/p>\n

All of us, no matter where we live, what color we are, what religion we follow or what songs we dance to; thrive in a culture of love, peace, and compassion.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n

Always the entertainer, he left his fans swooning when he recreated his signature arms outstretched pose from the Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

SRK also gave the audience some more memorable moments, reciting dialogues from his popular films, Om Shanti Om\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and\u00a0Baazigar<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
