After two decades Disney has announced a new installment of our favorite childhood film, The<\/em> Princess Diaries.<\/strong><\/em> It stated that work on part three of the film is underway and it will not be a reboot.<\/p>\n

Aadrita Mukerji is penning a script for the threequel that originally starred Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews.<\/p>\n

However, there is no word if\u00a0 Anne Hathway, who played the titular character, will be returning as the Queen of Genovia or if it will be reprised by another actress. According to Variety,<\/em> someone else may have to step into Mia Thermopolis\u2019s shoes to play the main character.<\/p>\n\t\t

The actress did recently say that her onscreen grandmother, who was played by Julie Andrews, will return for the new project.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would more than entertain it, I\u2019m pulling for it,\u201d Anne Hathaway told Entertainment Tonight and added, \u201cIf there\u2019s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work\u201d.<\/p>\n\t\t
