Renowned veteran actor and comedian, Ismail Tara, passed away in Karachi yesterday. He is survived by his wife, four sons, and a daughter, and his demise is being mourned by the showbiz fraternity and his fans all over the world.<\/p>\n

His\u00a0janaza<\/em> (funeral prayer) will be offered at Shaheed-e Millat Road, Karachi after the Friday prayers.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the 73-year-old was suffering from kidney problems and was being treated at Medicare Cardiac & General Hospital. The Chief Sahib\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>actor’s condition worsened as he was placed on a ventilator yesterday morning.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, expressed his grief for the demise of the legendary comedian and said, “Ismail Tara’s artistic services will always be remembered”.<\/p>\n\t\t

Born on 16 November 1949, Ismail Tara was one of the most beloved figures in the Pakistani entertainment industry. He made his mark in showbiz as an actor and a comedian in the 1980s, working in several popular stage plays, TV shows, drama serials, and Lollywood films.<\/p>\n

Ismail Tara rose to fame with his iconic performance in the TV show Fifty Fifty<\/em><\/strong>. He won multiple awards and accolades for his work, including five Nigar Awards for ‘Best Comedian’ in shows like Haathi Mere Saathi<\/em><\/strong>, Aakhri Mujra<\/strong><\/em>, Munda Bigra Jaye<\/strong><\/em>, Chief Sahib<\/strong><\/em>, and Deewarein<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

His work was widely appreciated in Pakistan and even influenced Indian productions. In fact, the show, Munda Bigra Jaye<\/em><\/strong>, was the inspiration behind the hit Bollywood song Munni Badnaam Hui <\/em>from the film\u00a0Dabangg<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t
