Gori rangat<\/em> has become the crux of Pakistani women\u2019s never-ending quest for beauty, and nobody knows it better than Dr. Fazeela Abbasi.<\/p>\n

ProPakistani recently interviewed Dr. Fazeela Abbasi of DFA Clinic for our podcast, How Does it Work?<\/strong><\/em> and had an in-depth conversation with her about the unrealistic beauty standards that people have in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Why Does Pakistan Have a Gora <\/em>Complex?<\/h3>\n

Dr. Fazeela Abbasi stated that we live in a society where pale or fair skin is on top of the social checklist of ideal beauty, particularly for unmarried females as they are often rejected for being ‘dark’.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fazeela Abbasi revealed that parents often bring their daughters to her two to three months before their weddings, asking her for skin whitening solutions.<\/p>\n

For starters, she clarified that there is no such thing as ‘skin whitening’. There is only ‘skin brightening’, and people need to dial down their expectations, she said.<\/p>\n

Dr. Abbasi mentioned that always assures her clients that they will get the best skin brightening treatments without having to resort to unhealthy practices.<\/p>\n

She remarked,<\/p>\n

I can’t turn you into Michael Jackson. I nor anyone can improve your [skin] tone. I am somebody who’s going to help you enhance your skin color in a safe and an effective way.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\t\t

Dr. Fazeela Abbasi also touched upon Pakistan’s extensive and obsessive usage of glutathione or whitening injections. She explained that she gets them manufactured by certified pharmacies before providing them to her clients under medical supervision.<\/p>\n

However, that is not the case all around Pakistan, she revealed.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fazeela Abbasi explained that people should know about the content and manufacturing of the glutathione or whitening injections that they receive from different clinics or else their side effects could be fatal.<\/p>\n\t\t

She often does a lot of stem cell transplants as hair fall is a common problem in Pakistan. She also stressed that there’s a big misconception that hair transplants stop hair fall or thinning, which is incorrect.<\/p>\n

Owing to a lack of knowledge and awareness, people prefer to opt for hair transplants and PRP instead of a stem cell transplant which is far more effective, Dr. Fazeela Abbasi said.<\/p>\n
