1. The Legend of Maula Jatt<\/em><\/h3>\n

This movie has been a huge hit since its premiere in October and is an international blockbuster and is currently being screened in India. Directed and written by Bilal Lashari and co-writer Nasir Adeeb, The Legend of Maula Jatt<\/em> <\/strong>is a remake of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt <\/em><\/strong>and stars Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan<\/a>, and Humaima Malik<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The story of the movie revolves around the Natt’s rivalry with the Jatts, specifically Maula Jatt \u2014 an undefeated warrior raised by Daani after his parents were murdered by the Natts when he was a child. This caused him to have nightmarish flashbacks.<\/p>\n

Maula Jatt now seeks vengeance on his arch-enemy Noori Natt \u2014 a feared combatant in Punjab.<\/p>\n

2. Joyland<\/em><\/h3>\n

Mired in controversy, Joyland<\/strong><\/em> won Pakistan’s first Cannes entry as well as several awards at international film festivals. It is also Pakistan’s first shortlisted nomination<\/a> for The Oscars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Directed and written by Saim Siddiqui, and produced by <\/span>Sarmad Khoosat<\/a>, t<\/span>he film focuses on the transgender revolution in Pakistan. <\/span>The story centers on the life of the youngest son of a patriarchal family, who is expected to have a child with his wife but<\/span>\u00a0ends up in an erotica dance theatre and falls in love with a transgender woman.<\/p>\n

Although the movie is considered a masterpiece by those in the entertainment business, it was banned from being released in the country initially due to its storyline, which was considered ‘immoral’ or ‘inappropriate’.<\/span><\/p>\n

Joyland stars Ali Junejo and Rasti Farooq as well as Alina Khan, Sarwat Gilani, Salman Perzada, Sohail Sameer, Sania Saeed, and Sarwat Gillani.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t

3. London Nahi Jaunga<\/em><\/h3>\n

London Nahi Jaunga<\/strong><\/em> is a film that raises numerous concerns concerning women’s freedom of choice while simultaneously attempting to address some of these problems.<\/p>\n

It was directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.<\/p>\n

The plot centers around Zara, a British girl, whose life is turned upside down when she finds her mother’s journal and discovers that her father was brutally murdered under bizarre circumstances due to a love marriage.<\/p>\n

Humayun Saeed<\/a> produced London Nahi Jaunga<\/em><\/strong> and played the lead role in it alongside Mehwish Hayat<\/a>, Kubra Khan, Iffat Omar, Mehar Bano, Saba Faisal.<\/p>\n

4. Kamli<\/em><\/h3>\n

\"Kamli\"<\/p>\n

Kamli<\/strong> <\/em>is a narrative about Hina, played by Saba Qamar<\/a>, a girl who has been waiting for her husband’s homecoming for eight years. The plot follows her as her life unfolds via a series of odd circumstances until she meets Amaltas, played by Hamza Khawaja.<\/p>\n

The film was directed by Sarmad Khoosat and was released in theatres in June to positive reviews from critics.<\/p>\n\t\t

5. Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad<\/em><\/h3>\n

Directed and written by Nabeel Qureshi, Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad <\/strong><\/em>centres on Gulab, an officer who is crooked due to his circumstances and childhood trauma. He falls in love with Jia whose phone was stolen when she was saving dogs.<\/p>\n

The movie stars Fahad Mustafa, Mahira Khan<\/a>, Jawed Sheikh, and Faryal Mehmood. It was produced by Mehdi Ali and Fizza Ali Mirza under Filmwala Pictures.<\/p>\n
