Controversial kickboxer-turned-misogynistic influencer Andrew Tate was detained in Romania yesterday as part of a human trafficking\/rape investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

A pizza box helped the police narrow in on Andrew Tate’s location, according to several reports<\/p>\n

After embroiling in a highly publicized Twitter spat with teenage climate activist, Greta Thunberg, on Wednesday, he posted a video of himself in a Versace robe, smoking a cigar as an off-camera person handed him two boxes of Jerry’s Pizza, which is a popular Romanian chain.<\/p>\n

His arrest took place just a day after he posted the video and it is believed that the pizza boxes may have helped the Romanian police determine his location and were “proof he was in the country”, as per a report in The Independent<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The brothers have been under investigation by Romanian police since April, according to Reuters.<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t

Andrew Tate had allegedly converted to Islam,<\/a> according to various social media reports earlier this year. On 22 October, British Muslim and ex-MMA fighter, Tam Khan, had tweeted a video showing him in a black satin suit, performing namaz<\/em>\u00a0at a mosque in Dubai, UAE.<\/p>\n

The video had gone viral, dividing the internet as some congratulated Andrew Tate for accepting Islam while others weren’t forgiving of his questionable moral beliefs and speculated that it was possibly a strategic move by the controversial influencer to gain more followers.<\/p>\n

A former British-American kickboxer, Andrew Tate is one of the most infamous social media influencers of the current generation. The 35-year-old has been described as a ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynist’ by several people because of his controversial statements.<\/p>\n

Andrew Tate is notoriously famous in the ‘Red Pill’ community. His ideologies are rooted in misogyny as he revels in spreading his extreme ideas of ‘masculinity’. According to him, a woman’s role in life is to serve a man and be submissive.<\/p>\n
