L\u2019Or\u00e9al has returned to CES (the most influential tech event in the world) to unveil two makeup devices for people with limited hand and arm mobility. HAPTA makeup tool is a handheld, motorized applicator to help people steadily apply Lanc\u00f4me lipstick. Support for more makeup applications is in the works.<\/p>\n

HAPTA is based on tech from Alphabet-owned, ‘Verily\u2019 that levels gears and keeps them stable to help people with limited hand and arm mobility eat independently.<\/p>\n

According to L\u2019Or\u00e9al, The system has smart motion controls and customizable attachments to enable precise application with the help of 360 degrees of rotation and 180 degrees of flexion.<\/p>\n

The attachments are connected magnetically, with users being able to click them into place. L\u2019Or\u00e9al says, it\u2019ll take three hours to fully recharge the battery and users will get an hour of use out of a single charge, which is good for 10 or more applications.<\/p>\n

Fran\u00e7oise Lehmann, global brand president of Lanc\u00f4me, said in a statement,<\/p>\n

With HAPTA we are going one step further by making beauty more accessible to use because everyone should have equal access to it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

L’Or\u00e9al Brow Magic<\/h3>\n

Aside from the lipstick applicator, L’Or\u00e9al worked with Prinker to develop another applicator with the same goals as HAPTA. Brow Magic can help people achieve a personalized eyebrow based on their facial features and natural brow.<\/p>\n

Brow Magic will have 2,400 small nozzles and a printing resolution of up to 1,200 drops per inch. In just seconds, the applicator can apply a precise brow seamlessly.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Or\u00e9al says the system is based on its Modiface AR technology. Users will need to scan their faces using an app and choose their desired shape, thickness, and effect.<\/p>\n

The app will offer micro-blading, micro-shading, and filler recommendations. After the user applies a primer, they’ll need to sweep the device across their eyebrow in a single motion, then add a topcoat.<\/p>\n
