In a BBC interview with Haroon Rashid, Pakistani actress Dur-e-Fishan Saleem discussed how our society is fascinated with toxic heroes who save the heroine in the end, and how women end up falling in love with these toxic men.<\/p>\n

“I doubt Dur-e-Fishan Saleem would watch shows like Kesi Teri Khudgharzi,” the host asked. “So, why do you believe dramas like KTK are so popular?”<\/p>\n

In response to this question, Dur-e-Fishan stated,<\/p>\n

I would not watch a genre like this. Or would even like to work in something like this again. But I belong to the kind of society where people really like any woman being saved from any toxic area around her. Our audience are just focused about a girl needs to be saved by a boy and no matter how that boy saves you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\t\t

It\u2019s more to how we raise a women in our culture. We just tell them that, you know your brother, your husband, your father is supposed to be around you. So I feel like when I was reading the script I would not have acted the way Mehak did in Kesi Teri Khudgharzi because Mehak is a Pakistani girl who has no experience of boys who is never told that you are good for yourself<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\t\t
