The legendary cricket star aka Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar has obtained a stay order from the court against the makers of his highly anticipated biopic. The order prohibits the filming and release of the film until the final decision of the aforementioned lawsuit.<\/p>\n

This legal action was taken in response to the persistent threats made by a certain group of people, who have vowed to continue filming despite the termination of the agreement between Shoaib Akhtar and the filmmakers.<\/p>\n

The former fast bowler shared the news on his Instagram account. It says,<\/p>\n

\u00a0Alhamdolillah, I have secured a stay order against the filming and release of the supposed biopic being made on my life by a certain group of people.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also warned that any person involved in the project should be aware of the illegality of their actions and the potential reputational loss they may face.<\/p>\n\t\t

Earlier this year, after Umair Jaswal\u2019s<\/a> unexpected exit, the prolific fast bowler also cut ties<\/a> with the Rawalpindi Express\u00a0team due to \u201ccontractual violations\u201d. The speedster previously clarified that he has formally left the project and revoked the rights to his life story. He warned the filmmakers that he will take \u201csevere legal action\u201d against them if they still continue to make the biopic and use his name or life story in any way.<\/p>\n

Billed as the \u201cfirst foreign film about a Pakistani sportsman\u201d,\u00a0Rawalpindi Express\u00a0was scheduled to release in November 2023.
