Given\u00a0the \u201cBarbenheimer\u201d craze that\u2019s sweeping the world, Cillian Murphy, the star of Christopher Nolan\u2019s Oppenheimer, was even asked if he would embrace the pink and play ‘Ken’ in a potential sequel to Gerwig\u2019s now-historic blockbuster Barbie.<\/p>\n

He responded,<\/p>\n

Sure, yeah. Let\u2019s read the script, let\u2019s have a conversation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Talking about if he had watched the Barbie movie himself, he stated, “I can\u2019t wait to see [\u2018Barbie\u2019]. I can\u2019t wait to see the movie. I think it\u2019s great for the cinema to get all these great movies happening this summer”.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Whether or not Cillian becomes a Ken remains to be seen. For now, he\u2019s still processing everything that went into becoming J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who created the atomic bomb during World War II.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For the role, he went through dramatic isolation periods and weight loss during filming, so much so that Robert Downey Jr. aka Iron Man said he\u2019s never seen an actor sacrifice more for a role than Murphy in \u201cOppenheimer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cillian told the\u00a0New York Times in May,<\/p>\n

I love acting with my body, and Oppenheimer had a very distinct physicality and silhouette, which I wanted to get right. I had to lose quite a bit of weight, and we worked with the costume and tailoring; he was very slim, almost emaciated, and existed on martinis and cigarettes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Barbie opened to a massive $162 million during its opening weekend, but Oppenheimer was no slouch. The film debuted to a huge $82 million, a staggering number considering Nolan\u2019s latest is a talky, three-hour biographical drama.<\/p>\n

“I think it’s just great for the industry and for audiences that we have two amazing films by amazing filmmakers coming out on the same day,” Murphy recently told\u00a0the media. “You can spend the whole day in the cinema.
