Studiocanal has unveiled a tantalizing first-look teaser for Back To Black, the upcoming musical biopic directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson that delves into the extraordinary life of musical legend Amy Winehouse.<\/p>\n

The film stars Marisa Abela, known for her breakout role in Industry, in the lead role as Amy Winehouse.<\/p>\n

Scheduled for a release on April 12, Back To Black traces Winehouse’s journey from her formative years in the London underground music scene to her meteoric rise to international stardom.<\/p>\n

The teaser offers a glimpse into Amy’s early days, capturing the essence of her famous image and persona on the streets of London. The teaser concludes with a powerful scene of Marisa Abela, portraying Amy Winehouse, recording the iconic single Back to Black in a recording studio.<\/p>\n

The cast features BAFTA-winning actor Jack O\u2019Connell as Blake Fielder-Civil, Eddie Marsan as Mitch Winehouse, Juliet Cowan as Janis Winehouse, and the highly acclaimed Lesley Manville, a Golden Globe and Oscar nominee, portraying Winehouse\u2019s grandmother, Cynthia.<\/p>\n

Written by Matt Greenhalgh, with music production handled by Giles Martin, and casting overseen by Nina Gold, Back To Black is produced by Alison Owen and Debra Hayward of Monumental Pictures, alongside Nicky Kentish-Barnes.<\/p>\n
