Brad Pitt is likely reuniting with Quentin Tarantino for the filmmaker\u2019s 10th and ostensibly final feature, \u201cThe Movie Critic.\u201d The status of the deal is unclear.<\/p>\n

Tarantino has remained tight-lipped about \u201cThe Movie Critic,\u201d but it\u2019s reportedly set in southern California during the 1970s and centers on a cynical film reviewer. It\u2019s rumored to be inspired by the life of Pauline Kael, the late New Yorker writer who was one of the most influential film critics of her time.<\/p>\n

Tarantino sidestepped inquiries about \u201cThe Movie Critic\u201d during a conversation at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, saying to audience members,<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t tell you guys [anything] until you see the movie. I\u2019m tempted to do some of the character\u2019s monologues right now, but I\u2019m not going to. Maybe if there were fewer video cameras. You just have to wait and see.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pitt is expected to spend a portion of 2024 filming a Formula One racing feature from \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d director Joseph Kosinski. So, if talks for \u201cThe Movie Critic\u201d are finalized, it likely wouldn\u2019t begin production until mid-year or later. No studio is attached to the film, which will be shot in California.<\/p>\n\t\t

Pitt and Tarantino previously worked together on 2009\u2019s \u201cInglourious Basterds\u201d and 2019\u2019s \u201cOnce Upon a Time\u2026 in Hollywood,\u201d which landed Pitt an Oscar for best-supporting actor.<\/p>\n

Tarantino has shared an intention to retire from filmmaking after his 10th film.
