Squid Game actor O Yeong-Su was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment after he was proven guilty of sexual misconduct with a woman in 2017.<\/p>\n

The Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court on Friday ruled out against the 79-year-old actor, sentencing him to eight months in prison, in addition to two years of suspension.<\/p>\n

During Friday\u2019s hearing, Judge Jeong Yeon-ju said, that the claims made by the victim and her records of the sexual misconduct are “consistent … and appear to be statements that cannot be made without actually experiencing them.”<\/p>\n

In addition to an 8-month sentence, O Yeong-Su is also ordered to complete 40 hours of classes on sexual violence.<\/p>\n\t\t

For the unversed, in 2022 O Yeong-su was accused of sexually assaulting a woman, who claimed that the incident occurred in 2017 on a walking path and in front of her house, during O\u2019s stay in a rural area for a theatre performance.<\/p>\n

The charges of sexual misconduct against O Yeong-su came after he became the first South Korean actor to win a Golden Globe Award for best supporting actor in the Netflix series Squid Games.<\/p>\n
