Barbie<\/em> and La La Land<\/em> star, Ryan Gosling is reportedly in negotiations to star in an untitled Star Wars<\/em> movie, by Deadpool and Wolverine <\/em>director Shawn Levy.<\/p>\n

If the deal goes through, Gosling will officially step into a galaxy far, far away, marking a major milestone in his already stellar career.<\/p>\n\t\t

The project, which has been in development since late 2022, is being written by Jonathan Tropper (This Is Where I Leave You<\/em>, The Adam Project<\/em>). Levy, who is also producing the film through his 21 Laps banner alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, is crafting a standalone Star Wars<\/em> story. That means this movie won\u2019t be tied to the Skywalker Saga, which wrapped up with 2019\u2019s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker<\/em>.<\/p>\n

For Ryan Gosling, this potential role represents a significant shift in his career. While many of his peers have already dipped their toes into major franchises, Gosling has largely avoided them, opting instead for critically acclaimed films like Drive<\/em>, Blade Runner 2049<\/em>, and The Notebook<\/em>.<\/p>\n

However, his recent turn as Ken in Greta Gerwig\u2019s Barbie<\/em> proved that he can dominate the blockbuster space with charm, humor, and a touch of existential angst.<\/p>\n

If Gosling officially signs on, it would be his first foray into the Star Wars<\/em> galaxy and a major addition to his already impressive r\u00e9sum\u00e9.
