If you\u2019ve ever wondered whether there\u2019s a chance of Back to the Future 4<\/em> happening, franchise co-creator Bob Gale has some very choice words for you.<\/p>\n

Gale, who wrote and produced all three iconic Back to the Future<\/em> films alongside director Robert Zemeckis, is done fielding questions about a fourth installment.<\/p>\n\t\t

Gale made the blunt declaration backstage at the Saturn Awards, where he was honored with the George Pal Memorial Award. When asked (yet again) about the possibility of a fourth movie, Gale didn\u2019t hold back. He had this to say:<\/p>\n

People always say, \u2018When are you going to do Back to the Future 4<\/em>?\u2019 and we say, \u2018F\u2014 you’<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While Gale has no interest in reviving the time-traveling adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown on the big screen, he pointed out that the franchise is far from dormant.<\/p>\n

Back to the Future<\/em> has already inspired a hit Broadway musical, which debuted in London\u2019s West End before making its way to Broadway in August 2023.<\/p>\n

The musical, which won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2022, wrapped its Broadway run in January 2025 after over 500 performances and a whopping $80 million in ticket sales.<\/p>\n

And the journey doesn\u2019t stop there. The musical is set to embark on a global tour and will even have a stage production aboard Royal Caribbean Cruises. \u201cMy God, Back to the Future,<\/em> I\u2019m going to be doing it for the rest of my life,\u201d Gale joked.<\/p>\n\t\t

While fans won\u2019t be getting a fourth movie, Gale did reveal an exciting new project: he\u2019s helping franchise star Michael J. Fox write a book about his experience making the trilogy. Titled Future Boy,<\/em> the book promises to offer a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.<\/p>\n
