Why? Because Lamar didn\u2019t perform <em>Bad Blood<\/em>, his hit collaboration with Swift, and they\u2019re not letting it slide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">For many Taylor Swift fans, the Super Bowl halftime show was a chance to relive the magic of <em>Bad Blood<\/em>, the 2015 chart-topping remix that featured Lamar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">Some even hoped for a surprise appearance by Swift herself. But when the performance came and went without so much as a nod to the song, Swifties took to social media to vent their frustration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">One fan tweeted:<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">&#8220;You have countless Swifties watching the Super Bowl and you couldn\u2019t simply ask Taylor for the rights to your version of Bad Blood. Pathetic!&#8221; Another wrote &#8220;Just really feel like <em>Bad Blood<\/em> would\u2019ve brought a little razzle-dazzle to the halftime show.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">While Swifties mourned\u00a0<em>Bad Blood&#8217;s absence<\/em>, Kendrick Lamar had other plans. The rapper leaned into his beef with Drake performing the Grammy-winning diss track <em>Not Like Us.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">The song, which recently earned Lamar five Grammy trophies\u2014including Record of the Year and Song of the Year\u2014has been at the center of a legal battle. Drake sued Universal Music Group (UMG), alleging defamation and claiming the song contains false and damaging allegations against him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">Lamar, ever the provocateur, addressed the controversy head-on during his performance. Midway through the show, he teased the audience:<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">&#8220;I want to perform their favorite song, but you know they love to sue,&#8221; before launching into <em>Not Like Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"first:mt-1.5\">The track\u2019s biting lyrics, including the infamous line, <em>\u201cCertified Lover Boy? Certified pedophile,\u201d<\/em> were slightly altered for the performance, with Lamar omitting the term \u201cpedophile\u201d amid the ongoing legal dispute.
