Guardians of the Galaxy\u00a0<\/em>is one of the most beloved\u00a0Marvel Cinematic Universe <\/a>\u00a0(MCU)<\/a> series<\/span>. From Chris Pratt’s Starlord to Dave Batista’s Drax, we can’t imagine anyone else in these roles\u2014 even if it’s Vin Diesel as Groot!<\/p>\n

The same goes for the “Most Dangerous Woman in the Universe,” aka Gamora. However, before Zoe Salda\u00f1a put on the green paint, Amanda Seyfried was director James Gunn’s first pick.<\/p>\n\t\t

In a recent podcast, the\u00a0Mean Girls\u00a0<\/em>star spilled the tea on why she turned down the role of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em>
\n\"\"<\/a>
\nAmanda Seyfried revealed that when director James Gunn offered her the role, she had a serious case of the jitters. \u201cI mulled over the offer for a few days,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n

The thought of being stuck in a superhero suit for ages and possibly being \u201cpainted a different color\u201d was enough to make her second-guess the whole thing. Plus, the idea of filming in London for a blockbuster was a bit daunting.<\/p>\n

At the time, she had her sights set on a project with Seth MacFarlane called A Million Ways to Die in the West<\/em>, which she thought was a better fit for her career. Ironically, that film ended up being a flop\u2014talk about bad luck.<\/p>\n\n

Fast forward to today, and we all know Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> became a massive hit, raking in $773 million worldwide and launching a beloved franchise. Seyfried, however, stands by her decision, saying, \u201cI was way too scared\u201d but adds, \u201cIt was good for me then and it was good for me now.\u201d<\/p>\n
