I was a drug addict, a sex addict, and an imbecile, but what I never was, was a rapist. I\u2019ve never engaged in nonconsensual activity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The charges follow a police investigation launched after a 2023 Channel 4 documentary brought the allegations to light. Jaswant Narwal of Britain\u2019s Crown Prosecution Service stated, \u201cWe carefully reviewed the evidence after a police investigation and concluded that Russell Brand should be charged with offences including rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault.\u201d<\/p>\n Brand is accused of raping a woman in Bournemouth in 1999, committing oral rape and sexual assault in Westminster in 2004, indecently assaulting a woman in 2001, and sexually assaulting another woman between 2004 and 2005.
