Dionne Marie Hanna, the 84-year-old British woman at the center of Netflix\u2019s hit crime documentary Con Mum<\/em>, has been charged with five counts of fraud in a Singapore court.<\/p>\n

The charges, involving three victims, come after the documentary\u2019s release on March 25, which detailed her alleged scams, including one targeting her own son, renowned pastry chef Graham Hornigold.<\/p>\n\t\t

According to court documents, one of the charges involves her allegedly duping a Singaporean man, Paiman Bin Supangat, by claiming she was a member of the Brunei royal family. She reportedly told him she had terminal cancer and wanted to pass her wealth to him and his son, a story that led to significant financial losses.<\/p>\n

The Netflix documentary Con Mum<\/em> follows Hanna\u2019s shocking reentry into Hornigold\u2019s life, claiming to be his biological mother. As they reconnected, she allegedly conned him out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. A DNA test at the end of the film confirmed her claim of being his mother, adding a bizarre twist to the story.<\/p>\n

Singapore police revealed that after the documentary aired, they received multiple reports from alleged victims. Preliminary investigations suggest Hanna was involved in at least five cases of fraud, with losses exceeding $200,000. Victims were reportedly lured into transferring money for \u201clegal fees\u201d and \u201coverseas bank accounts\u201d under the pretense of receiving investments or inheritance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf found guilty, Hanna could face fines and up to 20 years in prison,\u201d police said in a statement.<\/p>\n\t\t
