In a candid interview with the Times of India, Mawra Hocane addressed the renewed hatred toward Pakistani artists in India, particularly regarding Fawad Khan\u2019s upcoming film, Abir Gulaal<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t

Abir Gulaal<\/em>, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, is currently facing threats from right-wing political parties in India. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena have vowed to block the film\u2019s release in Maharashtra, while the chief of the Indian Film and TV Directors\u2019 Association has warned of protests over Khan\u2019s casting.<\/p>\n

Mawra, however, is not one to internalize the negativity surrounding Pakistani artists. \u201cI don\u2019t take it personally. This is how the world works, right?\u201d she said confidently. \u201cI truly believe if it\u2019s meant to happen, it will. I block the noise around my work.\u201d<\/p>\n

She acknowledged the political and bureaucratic roadblocks complicating matters for artists, emphasizing that the real burden lies with producers. \u201cIt is truly the producer\u2019s headache, which is sad, but it is their problem. If I invest my mind into thinking, \u2018Oh, what\u2019s going to happen,\u2019 I will always be restless,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Mawra Hocane, who recently appeared in the Hindi music video “Tu Chaand Hai<\/em>,” also voiced her support for Khan. \u201cWhen my colleagues do well, we definitely reach out to each other. I truly wish the best for everyone. I hope this film does really well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\t\t
