Let\u2019s be real: These theater shows, like the ones at Mehfil Theatre, Prince Theatre, and Tamaseel Theatre in Lahore, have a reputation for being too “colorful,” often crossing into over-sexualized territory. Run by shady folks, they\u2019ve been dodging guidelines for years, and authorities are finally stepping in.<\/p>\n

The new law, set to pass this week, makes costumes part of the compliance process for stage dancers, aiming to clean up the act\u2014literally.<\/p>\n

The crackdown kicked off earlier this month when Punjab\u2019s Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari<\/a>, went undercover with surprise visits to these theaters. She snooped through dressing rooms, cafeterias, and performance halls, and what she found wasn\u2019t pretty.<\/p>\n
