Swedish activist Greta Thunberg was among 12 volunteers detained by Israeli forces after their British-flagged aid vessel, the Madleen, was intercepted while attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t

The boat, operated by the pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), was carrying a small shipment of humanitarian aid, including rice and baby formula, intended for civilians in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Before the interception, the FFC posted a pre-recorded \u201cSOS\u201d video from Greta Thunberg on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Thunberg states:<\/p>\n

My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel. I urge all my friends, family, and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
