Outrage is boiling over, with calls for harsh punishment and a crackdown on abuse in religious schools. The video continues to circulate, fueling a firestorm of anger and disgust.<\/p>\n<p>The incident in Basirpur is the latest in a long line of abuse scandals plaguing Pakistan\u2019s religious seminaries.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their role in providing free education, madrassas have repeatedly been linked to sexual and physical abuse, with teachers often shielded by religious authority and community silence.<\/p>\n<p>Recent reports show that child sexual abuse in madrassas is widespread but rarely punished.
