Valentine\u2019s Day has always reflected a spectrum of emotions \u2014 from romance and new love to self-love, friendship, and yes, heartbreak.<\/p>\n

In Pakistan, however, heartbreak is increasingly taking center stage.<\/p>\n

New Spotify data reveals that streams of heartbreak-themed music on Valentine\u2019s Day surged nearly 190% in 2025 compared to 2023, highlighting a growing trend of listeners turning to music to process complex emotions. So who\u2019s pressing play?<\/p>\n

The answer might surprise you.<\/p>\n

Men account for 66% of heartbreak listening in Pakistan, while more than half of all streams come from 18\u201324 year olds, placing Gen Z at the center of this trend.<\/p>\n

For younger listeners in particular, Valentine\u2019s isn\u2019t just about celebrating love \u2014 it\u2019s about navigating it. Music has become the space where those emotions are explored most honestly.<\/p>\n
