KARACHI: Assistant Commissioner Hazim Bangwar of North Nazimabad has spearheaded a unique project that aims to transform unused government spaces into recreational areas for the people of his area.<\/p>\n

The spaces under flyovers and overhead bridges, which were often left vacant or become dumping sites for garbage, will be repurposed to promote healthy activities and sports.<\/p>\n

The idea of converting such spaces into sports courts was initially implemented by Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab under Cantt Bridge, where a vibrant basketball court was created.<\/p>\n

This idea was inspired by an Indian citizen’s video, which showcased a play area developed under an overhead bridge to provide young people with a platform for healthy activities.<\/p>\n

Now, Bangwar has promised a similar project to the residents of his North Nazimabad area.<\/p>\n

He shared pictures on his Twitter handle of a site visit to discuss the work plan, writing, “North Nazimabad, you requested this? You’re getting this!”<\/p>\n
