ABBOTTABAD: Thousands of travelers were left stranded on Nathia Gali Road on Sunday when heavy overnight rainfall triggered a flash flood in nullah Garang, causing a landslide that blocked the road.<\/p>\n
According to the sources, the debris came from an under-construction hotel project in the area.<\/p>\n
The Galyat Development Authority (GDA) and the Communication and Works Department failed to cooperate, blaming each other for the obstruction instead of working towards clearing the road.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the GDA officials refused responsibility, saying that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Communication and Works Department.<\/p>\n
However, the C&W Department responded by saying that it’s not their job and that the responsibility lies with the Galyat Development Authority.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, heavy landslides have occurred in the Mount Sulaiman range due to recent rains in the border hilly areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has also suspended traffic due to a landslide at Dhana Sar on the National Highway (N-50).<\/p>\n
To restore the traffic and clear the debris, the Federal Minister for Communication Maulana Asad Mehmood instructed NHA field staff and machinery to mobilize to remove the landslide debris from the road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
