{"id":14728,"date":"2023-04-11T13:31:46","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T08:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propakistani.pk\/proproperty\/?p=14728"},"modified":"2023-04-11T13:31:46","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T08:31:46","slug":"speaker-na-inaugurates-constitutional-monument-to-commemorate-1973-constitution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propakistani.pk\/proproperty\/speaker-na-inaugurates-constitutional-monument-to-commemorate-1973-constitution\/","title":{"rendered":"Speaker NA Inaugurates Constitutional Monument to Commemorate 1973 Constitution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: On April 10, 2023, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, marked the day\u2019s significance in Pakistan&#8217;s political history as the nation celebrated the passage of the parliamentary, federal, and consensus-based Constitution in 1973.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Ashraf emphasized that the true spirit of the Constitution&#8217;s implementation was essential for the country&#8217;s prosperity and development.<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate the occasion, Ashraf inaugurated the &#8216;Yadgar-e-Dastoor,&#8217; the constitutional monument, and praised the efforts of former Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani and his committee in building the monument.<\/p>\n<p>The monument, located at D-Chowk on the Dastur Highway, is a significant step and a positive move towards recognizing the contributions of political leaders who worked tirelessly to bring about the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Ashraf credited former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for the political maturity and sagaciousness that led to the adoption of the 1973 Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>The principles outlined in the Constitution reflect Islamic, federal, democratic, and parliamentary Pakistan, the same principles Quaid-i\u2014Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah outlined in his first address to the first constituent assembly on August 11, 1948.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the memorial, Ashraf announced the construction of a garden called &#8216;Bagh-e-Dastur,&#8217; which would also honor the contributions of political leaders who played a role in bringing about the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Ashraf declared April 10 as a national day, similar to August 14, and paid tribute to the unsung heroes who sacrificed their lives for the supremacy of the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>He and other parliamentarians later visited the monument to pay their respects.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of Capital Development Authority, Noor Ul Amin Mengal, also attended the inauguration ceremony.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bagh e Dastoor and Yadgar e Dastoor.
