The Punjab government has accelerated construction on the 123-kilometer modern signal-free tourism route project.<\/p>\n
In a\u00a0briefing to the lawmakers, the project contractor\u00a0stated that 40 percent of the construction on the 32-kilometer-long portion from Pindori Chowk to Brure has been completed.<\/p>\n
While the second phase of the project’s development will get underway in August.<\/p>\n
The contractor also added that to create multi-story, earthquake-resistant buildings on both sides, all properties along the road would be commercialized.<\/p>\n
Additionally, along the roadway, there will be erected educational institutes,\u00a0industrial zones, contemporary parks, and picnic areas.<\/p>\n\n
The mentioned tourist highway will run from Lower Topa in Murree to Pindori Chowk in Kalar Syedan, according to Project Concept-1 (PC-1).<\/p>\n
The route will link Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Galiyat and will be the sole “tourism corridor” once finished.<\/p>\n
Five significant roads from Azad Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Great Britain, and other locations would connect to the motorway.<\/p>\n
This project worth 4.27 billion PKR was inaugurated in October 2021 and is expected to be completed by March 2024.
