PESHAWAR: In a significant move, the caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has given the green light to a series of important initiatives and projects during its eighth cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n
Chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan, the meeting witnessed the endorsement of several crucial decisions aimed at enhancing various sectors within the province.<\/p>\n
Among the notable approvals, the establishment of a dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Peshawar Safe City Project garnered attention.<\/p>\n
With an increased budget allocation of Rs. 262.56 million for the fiscal year 2023\u20132024, this initiative aims to enhance security and surveillance in Peshawar.<\/p>\n
The updated PC-1 for de-radicalization and rehabilitation facilities in the merged districts was also given the go-ahead by the cabinet, showcasing the government’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n
The cabinet also approved the transfer of a prisoner from Peshawar Jail to Rawalpindi and granted authority to the Home Secretary for future prisoner transfers.<\/p>\n
The cabinet also sanctioned the Juvenile System Rules 2022, further enhancing the juvenile justice system.<\/p>\n
With a focus on sustainable energy, the cabinet announced plans to solarize approximately 28,000 agricultural tube wells, a groundbreaking initiative set to benefit farmers and the environment alike.<\/p>\n
Additionally, educational institutions underwent changes, with the Political Agent Public School in Kalaya town, Orakzai district, being transferred to the Frontier Constabulary and the Bacha Khan Model School in Pabbi Nowshera operating under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Educational and Training Institutions Ordinance 1971.<\/p>\n
The KPK caretaker cabinet showcased a forward-looking approach by revising the internet policy for the province.<\/p>\n
In a significant financial move, the cabinet granted permission to the KP Board of Investment and Trade to utilize $332 million earned from the Dubai Expo for essential expenditures.<\/p>\n
