Islamabad: The federal government has decided to penalize the ‘illegal occupancy’ of ten properties owned by the Abandoned Properties Organization (APO).<\/p>\n
Property belonging to former Pakistani residents who relocated to Bangladesh after 1971 will be reallocated and reused after being retrieved from unlawful occupants.<\/p>\n
In this respect, the Cabinet Division has transmitted a summary to the federal government for final approval.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the federal government will ensure that the assets are handled and administered in compliance with the Abandoned Properties (Management) Act of 1975 and government orders.<\/p>\n
The federal cabinet is anticipated to accept a package of recommendations, including one proposing that one of the ten properties be earmarked for the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, who currently does not have a designated official residence in the city.<\/p>\n
The APO is an independent agency founded on February 12, 1975, under the Abandoned Properties (Management) Act of 1975.<\/p>\n
