Ignoring our prayers as Muslims is the worst we can do to ourselves. Allah doesn’t need our prayers, but it is us who would be getting a place in Jannah.
Abandoning our prayers
Hazrat. Ibn Abbas (RA):
“When a person who abandons prayers reaches Allah, he will see that Allah will have inflicted His wrath on him.”
Bazzar, Tabarani, Majma’uz Zawaid
Keeping this in mind we need to pray five times a day with pure heart and pray for whatever we want as Allah is the Giver and He listens to our Dua’s and loves us 70 times more than a mother loves her children.
Prayer is a channel for us to communicate with our Creator.
“When any one of you stands to pray, he is communicating with his Lord, so let him pay attention to how he speaks to Him.”
During this communication, a person is closest to Allah during the Sujood. When a person puts his forehead on the Musalla (the place for prayer), he is the closest a person can get to Allah in this world. Therefore, need to offer our prayers regularly if we hope to keep a close contact with our Creator.
