Out of all major Android manufacturers, only HTC and Samsung have announced more compact versions of their flagships in the HTC One mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. However, the Sony Xperia ZR can also be called a mini version of the Xperia Z since it also has somewhat similar specs and a much more compact design so it is added as well.

It’s worth noting that the Xperia ZR is only phone which is water and dust proof. It is, however, the least compact of the trio. Specs-wise, the Galaxy S4 mini is the phone which least qualifies as the genuine mini flagship due to the considerably cut down specs which is a shame but then again, it’s the cheapest.
Our judgement, however, doesn’t matter much in this case as the end user should only look at the specs important to them to come to a final verdict before buying a phone.
I don’t understand how on earth you can rate s4 mini least genuine in comparison to HTC one mini, I mean apart from resolution samsung s4 mini wins hands down.
nope. Xperia ZR is better than other 2. Better GPU, Better Chipset, Camera is also bigger.
You are right! i was talking with regards to comparison between s4 mini and htc one mini. Xperia ZR no doubt is superior to these and there is not even competition
as far as specs are concerned both one mini and s4 mini doesn’t stand a chance before xperia zr.
If Sony Xperia ZR is a mini version, the other two sets pale in comparison to it. I like how Sony is pushing the Adreno 320 GPU for most of its new mid to high range sets. Xperia SP also has the GPU with impressive results.
Nexus 4 costs half the price of these “mini”s hahaha
Nexus 4 definitely is a brilliant “price/performance” product and despite its shortcomings, its still the one to buy in current time.
You are right. ‘Mini’ is just a word by Samsung to capitalize on the success of its flagship phone to sell their mid range phone at a higher price. Nothing more. HTC just following them.
