Following Others, Telenor Takes Back SMS Delivery Reports

Telenor took back its Delivery Reports tonight; so the competition didn’t end at pricing only – gameplay is on on at other fronts too.

By the way, we were just told that Warid has again started sending call summary reports, with remaining balance information at end of every call.

  • I think PTA should direct telcos to increase their capacity enough soon because sms delivery report is v.important especially when so many times sms gets delivered late or not gets delivered.

  • This is a very bad step. If users do not protest at this decision, Telcos will continue to take such decisions. Cellular companies should increase their system capabilities rather than taking stupid decisions.

I don’t think there is a sense in sending SMS without delivery report.

    I strongly condemn this decision.

  • I DON’T KNOW WHY THE HELL THESE NETWORKS FOLLOW EACHOTHER. TELENOR EXPANDED IT’S SMS CAPACITY LATER AND NOW THEY ALSO FOOLED CUSTOMERS. IS THEIR ANY PLACE WHERE THIS NETWORK MAFIA CAN BE PUNISHED FOR THEIR DECEPTIONS???
NOW I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO WARID. HOPE THEY’L ALSO IMITATE THEIR BROTHERLY ANIMALS SOON. WHAT THE F*** THEY CALL SERVICE!

  • ufone might do the same thing because peoples in my area not getting sms package balance report

  • I just hate U fone, it delivers sms after 12 to 15 hours, what the hell i mean?? and many times don’t bother to deliver!

  • telenor has changed the sms package

    100 sms for rupee 5
    250 sms for rupee 10
    1000 sms for rupee 30

  • I send some msgs early in the morning today but don’t recieve delivery report i thought that Telenor is following othres. After studying ur post it confermed. It’s not a good decision.I don’t like it.It is not accepeted .It will creat a bad impression.I think Telenor should take back this unpopular decision.

  • I’m using ZonG for sms, but from the last week (29th March), i’m not getting delivery reports. All my ZonG friends also confirmed me the same issue, so i thought to port in my # to Telenor as according to my knowledge, it was the only n/w supporting delivery reports (btw, i was very impressed after knowing about the agreement with “Acision”). But, alas, Telenor did the same thing, i couldn’t expect this move by them. Now, I think, I’ll stick with the ZonG.

  • I hate all the Telecom companies in Pakistan, I started using Warid after Mobilink and was happy with it.

    Because of the following benefits:

1- Rs. 100 on load of Rs. 100 card, No deduction.
    2- Lowest call rates
    3- SMS/MMS packages
4- Support of MMS of 300KB
    5- Video MMS Support
6- call Summary at the end of each call.

    NOW!

I hate it because of their changing attitude!

    1- Rs. 86 on Rs. 100 load.
2- Lowest call rates are not the lowest anymore
3- SMS/MMS still the same (sounds good, but don’t know when
    will they end it up.)
5- VIDEO MMS Support (Still there :) )
6- Call summary, (they ended it up and started again, but
stupid thing they did is, they display just the balance
after the end of each call, which I think is not that
necessary compared to the last call charges.

Warid offers services but for the limited time so that people start using it, and they stop it after that.

HUH,and PTA is SLEEPING, who’s gona keep a check on these MFs…
