PTCL’s Broadband Revenues 219 Times Up in Q1

PTCL has turned out to be the largest broadband service provider in the country, not only in terms of base only but the revenues too. July-Sep 2009 quarter showed 219 times more revenues for PTCL broadband as compared with the same quarter of last financial year, reported Daily Times.

The revenue earned in the broadband sector has posted triple digit growth as it stood at Rs 830 million in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (1QFY10). The revenue from broadband continued to grow and was twice higher than the same period last year because of increased number of subscribers.

The triple digit growth of broadband segment has contributed to 5.7 percent of the company’s overall revenue of July-Sep 2009. PTCL officials said that the company has firmed its focus on the broadband sector, which has posted significant expansion particularly since the second quarter of 2007-08 when it targeted educational sector with student discount packages.
