PSL Points Table Criteria
The points table in the PSL is a list of the teams in the league, ranked according to their points total. Points are awarded to teams based on their results in the league’s matches. In the group stage of the PSL, teams are awarded two points for a win and one point for a no-result or tie.
The format of the tournament is according to the double round-robin format. Each team will go head-to-head twice with other teams in the group stage to beat the PSL Points Table. The top four teams will qualify for the play-offs.
The points system implemented in the PSL Points Table 2023 is the same as previous editions of PSL or any franchise T20 league around the world.
Rankings will be determined by most accumulated points after 10 matches in group stage. The teams that finish in top four in the PSL points table will move onto the next round. Two points will be awarded for a victory on the table, one point will be awarded if the match ends in a tie and zero points for a loss.
Super over will be played if a match ends in a tie.
The following criteria will determine the ranking of the teams in the group stages:
- The team with the highest points on PSL Points Table at the end of the group stage will finish in the first position.
- If teams have an equal number of points on PSL Points Table, then the team with a higher net run rate will finish higher.
- In case, the points and the net run rate are equal on PSL Points Table. The team with the highest number of wins in the group stage will finish higher.
- If the above criteria are equal as well, then the team with fewer losses will finish higher in the table.
- If all the criteria remain equal. The result of the head-to-head between the two teams will determine the league position.
PSL Play Offs
