All over Pakistan, Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015 was enthusiastically celebrated by existing as well as aspiring Pakistani entrepreneurs. GEW was organized by Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Pakistan in collaboration with its partner organizations.
GEW pays homage to those innovators, risk-takers and job creators who strive to boost economic activity and growth. This kind of celebration is essential in Pakistan where even the general perception about entrepreneurship hinders aspiring entrepreneurs from entering the field. Those who are persistent enough to take those first brave steps must be encouraged and supported by events such as GEW.
This year’s GEW was held in major Pakistani cities from 16th to 21st of November. To expand entrepreneurial effort, more than forty events were organized during this period in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Khairpur, Peshawar, Sargodha, Multan, and Chakwal. While most of these events required physical attendance to be beneficial to the participants, Ray of Hope organized an online session on Importance of Taxation for New Ventures, helping to expand the event to non-attendees as well.
Roots College International Millennium Campus was notable in its efforts to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship in its students by planning The Millennium University College (TMUC) GEW Week, and The Millennium Moot Court Competition 2015.
Other events were organized by a variety of organizations:
