Ericsson is Offering €25,000 for Ideas on Ending World Hunger

Are you a university student with a game-changing idea that could eradicate world hunger? The Ericsson Innovation Awards 2017 competition is just around the corner and offering substantial prizes of up to €25,000 for the team that pitches the best idea.

Ericsson Innovation Awards 2017

The Ericsson Innovation Awards is an annual competition for students from all over the globe. It gives them the opportunity to nurture and develop their ideas, related to ICT, in tandem with experts from Ericsson.

The theme for Ericsson Innovation Awards 2017 is “Future of Food”, based on The UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. They are on the lookout for any ideas that have the potential to “Create Zero Hunger”.

“By 2050, the global population is expected to reach 9.6 billion. Ensuring that our food production and consumption is sufficient and sustainable is a major challenge, but also an opportunity to improve lives and the health of our planet. At Ericsson, we have seen at first-hand how ICT can impact the world for the better. How can your idea be a part of this development?”

How can I apply?

The competition is open to university students from all disciplines from anywhere in the world. Registration can be done only as a team of 2-4 people. To be applicable, you need to find and state a problem related to food and propose a viable solution for it.
