Overseas Pakistani workers remitted $15,596.28 million in first ten months (July to April) of fiscal year 2016-17, compared to $16,044.25 million received during the same period in the preceding year, witnessing a decrease of $447.97 million.
During April 2017, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to $1,538.61 million, which is 9.2% lower than March 2017 and 7.11% less than April 2016.
The country wise details for the month of April 2017 show that inflows from
- Saudi Arabia: US$ 439.13 million as compared to US$ 488.78 million in April 2016
- UAE: US$ 344.01 million as compared to US$ US$ 345.99 million in April 2016
- USA: US$ 199.69 million as compared to US$ US$ 189.88 million in April 2016
- UK: US$ 191.62 million as compared to US$ 221.88 million in April 2016
- GCC countries (including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman): US$ 175.18 million as compared to US$ 199.53 million in April 2016
- EU countries amounted: US$ 41.89 million as compared to US$ 39.85 million in April 2016
- Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan and other countries: US$147.09 million together as compared to US$170.55 million received in April 2016.
