Vivo has launched two new smartphones, the X9s and X9s Plus. Both feature dual front facing cameras as their unique selling points and are the successors to the last year’s X9 and X9 Plus.
Just a few days ago, Vivo started its operations in Pakistan and launched 3 smartphones in the market. It’s safe to assume the new smartphones will also be making their way to local markets soon.
Lets take a look at the new offerings by Vivo.
At first glance, both these smartphones share the same specs, and only differ from each other in a few places.
The X9s features a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 resolution on an AMOLED display. The X9s Plus on the other hand has a huge 5.85-inch AMOLED display but still keeps the 1920×1080 resolution, making it less sharper than the one on the X9s. Both also come with 2.5D glass on top. A fingerprint scanner is also present on the front of both devices.
Both the phones have different processors. The X9s is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652. It is an octa-core processor having 4 Cortex A72 cores clocked at 1.8Ghz and 4 Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.2GHz.
The X9s Plus uses the Snapdragon 653 chip. It is also an octa-core processor, having the same cores but clocked at 1.95Ghz and the other cores at 1.44GHz. Both are decent mid-range chipsets and will perform their jobs adequately.
Finally, the battery on the X9s is 3,320mAh while the X9s Plus features a 4,015mAh battery.
Apart from the differences mentioned above, both are nearly identical.
The highlight of these smartphones is the dual front-facing cameras having 20MP and 5MP sensors both with f/2.0 apertures. For assisting with night shots, they both feature a front-facing soft LED flash. The rear camera unit comes with a 16MP sensor having an aperture of f/2.0 and a single LED flash.
On the memory side of things, 4GB of RAM is present on both the models to ensure that multitasking without any hiccups.
Storage is limited to a very generous 64GB on both phones, which is unfortunately not expandable.
