In a notification sent to the PSX on Thursday, Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MLCFL) has announced the commencement of operations of its 40 MW coal-fired power plant by Maple Leaf Power Limited (MLPL), a wholly owned subsidiary.
The notification said that it has started commercial production and it will help the company meets its power requirements and add another reliable source of uninterrupted power, which would result in enormous savings in costs. It will help in improving the company’s margins and reduce dependence of electricity from the national grid.
Maple Leaf Cement was incorporated in April 1960 and the company is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). It is a subsidiary of Kohinoor Textiles Limited.
MLCF is in the business of producing and selling cement. MLCFL is a grey cement producer in Pakistan. With 12,000 tons per day capacity, Maple Leaf Cement Factory stands as the largest single unit cement manufacturer in Pakistan
