Great news for freelancers and small business owners, Microsoft is working on a special version of Skype to meet all your business related needs.
Earlier the software giant revealed its plans to launch Skype just for professional accounts. What makes Skype for professionals different is that it combines Skype calls, calendar meetings, and payments.
At this point it is unclear if it is going to be a free service or not.
The new version allows users to arrange meetings, and accept payments without the involvement of a third party, which is time-consuming for both freelancers and business owners.
The Skype Professional Account desktop client will be soon released in the US.
All the new features work together. If you want to request a payment along with arranging a meeting, that is now possible. Users will be able to easily import all their contacts into the new account.
Laurel was one of the early adopters who participated in the alpha program for Skype Professional Account. Laurel Thomsen is a violinist from the US who has spent most of her life teaching violin to students and performing in various concerts, and halls all around the world. She thinks that Skype is amazing as it enabled her to expand her career. She adds,
Now I’m traveling six to eight months out of the year and keeping up with all of my students via Skype. Instead of only having local students, I also now have a worldwide client base, and I get students who I really am already the best fit for. I’ve learned a lot more as a musician through the variety and caliber of my students over Skype.
