Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has issued a public notice, warning the consumers not to use banaspati of substandard quality.
The authority took ghee and cooking oil samples from various renowned companies and conducted laboratory tests, with less than stellar results.
PFA’s notification comes as a result of lab test reports which found that the certain brand’s ghees are not appropriate for consumption.
PFA has named the following products for their substandard quality, after the authority found out that the products lacked necessary saponification value and Vitamin A:
Apart from the above mentioned products, these cooking oil and banaspati products are unfit for consumption due to rancidity, addition of artificial flavour and high acid content:
Director General Punjab Food Authority Noor-ul-Amin issued a public notice on the matter.
