The amount of withholding tax collected from cash withdrawals from banks has registered an increase of Rs 3.051 billion this year. WHT amounted to Rs 34 billion during 2017-18 as compared to Rs 30.487 billion in 2016-17, reflecting a growth of 11.5% YoY.
The FBR has collected Rs 218.759 billion as withholding taxes from imports during 2017-18 as compared to Rs 259.539 billion in 2016-17, showing a loss of 18 percent.
The withholding tax collection from salaries stood at Rs 133.362 billion during 2017-18 against Rs 111.188 billion in 2016-17, reflecting a growth of 19.9 percent.
The FBR has collected Rs 57.847 billion withholding taxes from dividends during 2017-18 as compared to Rs 49.489 billion last year, showing a growth of 16.9 percent.
The FBR has collected Rs 47.382 billion withholding taxes from telecoms sector during 2017-18 as compared to Rs 51.773 billion last year, showing a loss of 8.5 percent.
The FBR has collected Rs 45.646 billion withholding taxes from bank interest during 2017-18 as compared to Rs 42.595 billion during 2016-17, showing a growth of 7.2 percent.
