Mobile Service to Remain Suspended In Lahore, Twin Cities and Gujranwala

Mobile phone services, including the wireless data services, will remain suspended in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala, starting from 8AM on Friday till 7PM in the evening.

This was revealed by Mr. Fawad Chaudhry, the Information Minister in a tweet he shared a while ago;

Decision is taken at a time when protestors have given a country wide call for strike on Friday, November the second, 2018.

Not to be mentioned, mobile services were already blocked in parts of Lahore and Rawalpindi, Islamabad for at least 36 hours.

For instance there is no cellular coverage in a circumference of 5 kilometers around Faizabad, Rawalpindi – a strategic location where protestors are likely to reach for a sit-in on Friday after the acquittal of Asma Bibi.

The stretch of cellular suspension could expand, depending on the law and order situation in other parts of the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had warned the protestors to not to take the law in hands or the state would react.

Negotiations between the protestors and the government, that started late Thursday, remained unsuccessful and reportedly the federal and provincial governments are prepping to take on the protestors to get the situation back to normalcy.
