Xiaomi Shows Off Redmi Note 7 Being Used as a Cutting Board

Xiaomi is taking marketing stunts to another level by using its phones as cutting boards.

In what seems to be a real-life fruit ninja session, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing took to social media and is seen cutting fruit on a Redmi Note 7. The phone was launched recently as part of Xiaomi-Redmi’s midrange lineup, promising high-end features at a competitive price.

The features not only include a strong chipset and powerful photography features but also cutting board capabilities. The phone was stomped, hit with walnuts, and even tossed down a staircase to showcase its durability.

Redmi Note 7 is covered by Gorilla Glass, and it seems that it managed to survive getting struck with a knife. The screen also works fine after the fruit cutting session.

The video first surfaced on a Chinese website and was later reposted on YouTube.

This isn’t the first time Xiaomi resorted to such methods to promote its durability. It did the same for other handsets as well to show that its smartphones are not only cheap but also durable.

Redmi Note 7 was launched recently with a 48 MP camera and decent midrange internals. The phone is getting a new updated Redmi Note 7 Pro version with a Snapdragon 675 chipset soon.

It will have better performance than the former and is expected to sell close to $220.
