PMD Forecasts More Rain & Snowfall in the Next 48 Hours

Starting today, rain is expected in Northern and Central parts of Pakistan with snowfall in the hilly areas, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) weather forecast.

In the past 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry with rainfall and snow at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan. 2mm rainfall was recorded in Bagrote, which will witness today’s lowest temperature at -07°C, and 1 mm in Kalat.

Skardu, Gupis -05°C, Astore, Kalam -04°C, Malamjabba, Hunza -03°C will be among the coldest places in Pakistan today.

The weather conditions are attributed to a westerly wave which is likely to continue affecting the upper parts of the country till Friday.

The weather outlook for Tuesday and Wednesday suggests rain and thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, D.I.Khan, Rawalpindi divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Islamabad and Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha divisions will also witness rainfall at scattered places on Wednesday.

The lowest temperature in Islamabad today will be recorded at 07°C. Due to the cloudy weather conditions, the cold is expected to persist as more rains are expected in February.
