You Can Now Buy A Flying Motorcycle With Speeds of 240 kmph

Traffic jams are annoying. Not so much, if you own a flying vehicle. I’m not talking about Hollywood movies here.

Jetpack Aviation has started taking pre-orders for its flying motorcycle, The Speeder, capable of flying at an altitude of 15,000 ft for up to 20-minutes and 150 mph (240 km/h) speeds. You can reserve your own flying motorcycle for $10,000.

Powered by 4 turbojet engines, the self-stabilizing motorcycle with the fly-by-wire control system has the capacity of producing a thrust of 705 lbs to carry 105 kg airframe and a pilot of up to 109 kg. It also has vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities.

Available at the price of $380,000, the motorcycle allows you 10-22 minutes in the air depending on the weight of the pilot and altitude, running on kerosene or diesel.

Jetpack Aviation says that it is building two versions under the Ultralight and Recreational categories. The experimental version will be available in America, needing a pilot’s license to operate.

The bike can be controlled by hand controls with different add-ons including a two-way aviation radio system for air-to-air and air-to-ground communications and a 12-inch touch screen navigation panel.

Safety is high on the list of priorities as even with one of the turbojet engines down, it can self-stabilize.
