Govt Appoints Hussain Asghar as Deputy Chairman NAB

Hussain Asghar has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), according to the official notification released earlier on Thursday.

The notification was issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice. It read:

The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in consultation with Chairman NAB, has been pleased to appoint Mr. Hussain Asghar as Deputy Chairman National Accountability Bureau, in terms of Section 7 of National Accountability Ordinance, 1999 with immediate effect for a period of three years.

The new Deputy Chairman was previously working with Punjab’s Anti-Corruption Establishment unit as Director General from September 2018 to February 2019.

The appointment has been made in compliance with Section 7 of NAB Ordinance, 1999 and he will be holding the position for 3 years with immediate effect.
