How would you feel if you start seeing ads on your lock screen? Pretty infuriating right? Huawei has some amazing preinstalled landscape background wallpapers that most of the users opt for when it comes to lock screens.
However, it seems that the company has allowed advertisements to show on the lock screen for a hotel booking website booking.com and the users are not pleased.
Consumers who have opted for pre-installed wallpapers have been facing this issue. The handsets affected are P30 Pro, P20, P20 Lite, Honor 10, and P20 Pro in the regions of UK, Netherlands, Ireland, South Africa, Norway, and Germany.
Like anyone else, users getting these ads on their lock screen have paid a lot of money for their phones and are pretty annoyed.
Some of them took to Twitter to complain about it.
When it comes to negative publicity, Huawei is currently going through a rough patch. This trail of advertisements on smartphone lock screens is certainly not helping at the moment. Huawei, when contacted by Engadget said, they were looking into the situation and will provide details soon.
Currently, the only way to resolve this issue is by not using the pre-installed wallpapers for the lock screen or home screen.
