New iPhone XI Leak Confirms the Horrible Square Camera and Notch

We’re a couple of months away from Apple’s iPhone event, where the Cupertino giant shows off its latest and greatest in smartphones.

As always, leaks/rumors about the upcoming iPhone XI (or 11) have started showing up on the web, giving us an idea of what to expect.

New case renders of the phones from accessory maker Olixar has added weight to an early rumor which pointed towards a square triple camera unit on the back of the iPhone XI.

Here’s what the iPhone XI or 11 might look like:

The case only shows a small cutout at the bottom which is not big enough for a USB Type C connector, making it clear that Apple is still not ready to make the switch over from Lighting to USB-C.

Apple has come under increasing criticism for leaving the iPhones with Lightning Ports. USB-C is now de facto on Macs and the iPad Pro, not to mention many Android phones and Windows PCs.

Not Looking Good

Another prominent feature on the cases is the square cutout for the primary camera, which shows the same horrid looking triple lens cam at the back we saw in earlier renders. It’s about time we start accepting that the square is actually happening.

Apple should realize that they’re not going to win any design awards with this one.

Olixar has even made a tempered glass protector for both the front and back of the phone. The screen protector shows that the front notch design hasn’t changed. The tempered glass for the back, however, fits right over the camera and features four holes – three for the cameras and one for the flash.

The renders are also consistent with most rumors about this fall’s new iPhones. Apple is once again expected to ship two OLED models and one with an LCD screen.
